Togatta Onsen has a history of 400 years, and of course there are hot springs,

  • Hot Spring Tour

    Togatta Onsen has two Kami-no-Yu baths: Kotobuki no Yu -no-yu and Kamino-yu.
    • Kotobuki no Yu

      The charming Kotobuki no Yu, a reproduction of a bathhouse from the Edo period, is located right in front of the inn.
      The hot water will warm your whole body even in winter.

    • Kami-no-Yu

      The wooden building made of Aomori cypress, "Kami-no-Yu," is a 2-minute walk from the hotel.
      The women's and men's baths each have lukewarm and hot water.
      The free foot bath outside is very popular with tourists who come to soothe their tired feet after a hike or walk.

  • Enjoy nature

    • Zao Echo Line

      A 26km long mountain road that crosses Zao range and connects Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures.
      If you drive through the large torii gate near Togatta Onsen,
      Tourist attractions such as Okama and Komakusadaira await you.
      Enjoy a scenic drive!
      *It is closed for the winter from early November to late April.Please be careful.
    • Okama

      Zao's most popular tourist attraction is a circular crater lake surrounded by the three peaks of Zao Katta, Mt. Kumano, and Mt. Goshiki. "Okama"
      The rugged crater walls and the emerald green lake surface create a mystical atmosphere.
      In winter, Zao Echo Line is closed and you cannot visit the area.
      The scenery changes with the seasons, and you'll be overwhelmed no matter how many times you visit.
    • The frost-covered trees of Miyagi Zao

      The beautiful shapes created by snow and ice are a symbol of Zao's harsh winters.
      Juhyo (frost-covered trees) are snow that forms on Aomoritodomatsu (Maries' fir) trees, and are said to be a rare natural phenomenon even around the world.
      Hop on board the snowmobile "Wild Monster" and experience the magnificent panorama!
    • Komakusadai

      To the west you can see the Kaerazunotaki Falls and the Furikonotaki Falls.
      It is a scenic spot where you can see the Ou Mountains and the Pacific Ocean to the east.
      From mid-June, the queen of mining plants, Dicentra persica, which gave Komakusa-daira its name, will be in full bloom.
    • Sankai Falls

      Sankainotaki Falls, which flows down in three tiers, is one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls.
      Especially during the autumn foliage season, the beautiful scenery of a thin white thread falling through the brocade fabric is truly breathtaking.
    • Fudo Falls

      At 53.5m high, 16m wide, and with a 32m deep basin, it is the largest waterfall in Zao.
      With a large volume of water and the feel of a waterfall deep in the mountains, it is popular with many writers and artists.
      Next to it stands a large stone monument with a replica of Zao Fudoson.
    • Eboshi Ski Resort

      This ski resort offers the longest cruise in the prefecture at 4.3km.
      There are a variety of course to suit everyone, from adults to children, and beginners to advanced skiers.
      The husband of this facility is also a ski veteran! If you want, we can give you some tips before you go skiing!
  • Making memories

    • Miyagi Zao Kokeshi Museum

      There are 5,000 traditional Togatta kokeshi dolls and other traditional kokeshi dolls from around the country on display, including wooden toys!
      There will also be a corner where active kokeshi craftsmen will demonstrate how to turn a potter's wheel,
      There is also a corner where you can try painting kokeshi dolls.

    • Zao Heartland

      The ranch boasts a vast area of approximately 100 hectares, and cows and sheep are waiting for your visit!
      There is an animal petting area and a facility where you can experience making cheese and sausages, so you can enjoy yourself all day long.
    • Miyagi Zao Fox Village

      There are over 100 foxes roaming free, including the fox that appeared in the film "Helen the Fox."
      Fox Village is extremely popular with both domestic and international tourists, and you might even be able to take a photo with a friendly fox!
    • Zao Banpu Kiln

      How about experiencing pottery in the natural surroundings of Zao as a memory of your trip?
      In the spacious studio, two beautiful sisters will teach you pottery carefully, so even beginners can feel at ease!
